Pane Vino

InterContinental Hotels Group

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the appointment of Thierry Perrot as the new Director of Operations Egypt and Libya. Perrot moves into this new function from his position as Area General Manager for InterContinental Hotels Group CityStars, Cairo, where he was instrumental in maintaining the hotels’ position of excellence within Egypt.

Greek Easter Day

InterContinental Pyramids Park Resort Cairo recently hosted the Greek Easter Day that was held around the pool. Among the 200 invitees were Greek business men & representatives, Greek Stars and journalists. All the invitees enjoyed the day and showed their great interest in the resort facilities and excellent service. Rotary ‘Nasr City’ recently held their m o n t h l y gathering at Le Meridien Heliopolis hotel hosting as guests of honor the famous actors Yousra and Samy El Adl , the veteran actors were the supreme of the interesting Egyptian series “Kadeyat Raay Aam” lately screened on the silver screen. Distinguish members of the community together with the club members enjoyed that evening’s open discussion around this touching theme that was the talk of town .The guests were welcomed upon their arrival by Mamdouh Farag , General Manager of the hotel and Nihal Zamzam , Marketing Communications and PR Manager ,taking a group photo with the crowd.

Conrad Cairo recently hosted a female’s press dinner at Villa D’Este, introducing a new experience of Italian Dinning, by chef Paolo Gagliardi. Guests were delighted by the sophisticated Italian Cuisine and signature specialties of chef Gagliardi, in acandlelight dinner enjoying the typical villa D’ este ambiance. Marriott’s Middle East

During Marriott’s Middle East & Africa General Managers conference that was held at the Cairo Marriott Hotel recently, more than forty participants took part in a valuable Spirit to Serve initiative. This initiative came to support Marriott International’s policy of “Spirit to Serve Our Communities”, which is an important part of the company’s culture and is highly recognized around the world. At Marriott, we believe that community engagement doesn’t only benefit the society but create opportunities for personal advancement! Grand Hyatt Cairo

Grand Hyatt Cairo was chosen to host the Italian delegation visited Egypt recently, H.E Romano Prodi, Prime Minister of Italy, was on top of the delegation. H.E Prime Minister had several activities to Hyatttend as a three-day trade tour intended to encourage relations between small and medium-sized business owners in Italy and Egypt. Director of Rooms Operation

Recognizing his a c h i e v e m e n t s and excellence in delivering on the guest experience vision; Gamal Moursy, Director of Rooms Operation at the Cairo Marriott Hotel received the “EDGE – Excellence in Delivering the Guest Experience” Award for the UKIMEA – United Kingdom, Ireland, Middle East & Africa - region. Pyramids Park Resort

InterContinental Pyramids Park Resort Cairo recently hosted 200 employees from Rentokil Company, the Experts of pest control in Spain and their stay lasted for 3 days. The entire group enjoyed their stay and experienced the oriental nights specially made for the group along with the oriental show. The Spanish group showed their great interest in the resort facilities and excellent service and the friendly staff. Big dinner party

On the Occasion of Marriott International’s yearly "Associates Appreciation" week, the Human Resource department of the Cairo Marriott Hotel organized a big dinner party for all associates to thank them for their efforts during the year. Employee Donating the blood

The Cairo Marriott Hotel continues to Support the Association of Friends of the National Cancer Institute "AFNCI". The hotel held the second blood donation campaign for this year with 200 associates participating. The donated blood mainly goes to children who suffer from cancer. Gordon Campbell, Area Director of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in Egypt announced Dirk Breuckmann as the new General Manager for Hyatt Regency Taba Heights. Breuckmann comes to Egypt with 22 years of experience in the hotel industry during which he occupied various m a n a g e m e n t positions in Germany and the Far East.

Murooj Rotana

At a press conference held at Murooj Rotana in Dubai, Orascom Hotels Holding, the single largest hotel owner in Egypt, SHUAA Hospitality Fund I, a new fund managed by SHUAA Partners, the private equity arm of SHUAA Capital and Rotana Hotel Management Corporation, the leading hotel chain in the MENA region announced a Joint Venture, which will invest in developing and operating budget business hotels in Egypt to be exclusively managed by Rotana.

Sony Ericsson

Sony Ericsson hosted an event for the retailers and distributors of the company’s products. The event was held yesterday at the Four Seasons Nile Plaza hotel.The event was attended by 250 guests from Egypt’s biggest dealers, in addition to the company’s Egyptian management team, and was presented by prominent media personality Gihan Abdullah. The event is considered an introductory meeting between Egyptian dealers and Sony Ericsson after the recent opening of the
company’s Cairo office. The management team also expressed their excitement regarding this event, which is considered the beginning of a strong and fruitful relationship between Sony Ericsson and its traders.

Marketing team

The Sales & Marketing team of the Cairo Marriott Hotel smashed all records with its results for the 1st quarter of 2008, where the hotel’s total sales for that quarter increased by 35% over the 1st quarter of 2007. The team received Marriott International’s “Sales & Marketing team of the 1st Quarter, 2008” award for UKIMEA (United Kingdom, Ireland, Middle East & Africa) region. Ulrich Huth

Ulrich Huth, the General Manager of the Cairo Marriott Hotel, announced recently the promotion of Luciano Scelza to Director of Food & Beverage at the hotel. Luciano joined the hotel in October, 2007, and since then he had proved to be an extremely creative, reliable, hard-working person who is always keen on introducing new ideas to enrich the guest’s unique dining experience at the Cairo Marriott. Marriott Hotel donated boxes

The Cairo Marriott Hotel donated boxes of essential food supplies the local “SOS” village, to support 16 houses in which 145 orphans live along with their foster mothers. This effort was part of Marriott International’s Spirit to Serve Our Communities Day, a worldwide initiative that enlisted 151,000 employees from over 3,000 locations in 67 countries to deliver community service through volunteerism. Business leaders from all Marriott brands and businesses have pledged to dedicate a day to helping others during or close to the third week of May. It’s worth mentioning that Marriott aligns community engagement activities under the SERVE platform to focus on five key areas. Recently Sheraton Sharm Hotel, Resort, Villas & Spa has nominated to receive the most prestigious Award from “HIIS” Hospitality Industry Integrated Service, the award was received for meeting the requirements of food safety and the excellent performance for the Food quality and hygiene. Dr. Amal Riad Managing Director & Mr. Fathy Nour Chairman of the Company presented the award to Mr. Firas Irsheidat the General Manager of the hotel.
