When I was 12 years old, I had to write an essay about all the things I wanted to accomplish in life. So I wrote down 18 things � one for each of the years until I turned 30. Truth be told, I can�t remember all the things I wrote that day, but some of the ones I do recall include: To graduate, to be happily married with kids, to have lots of friends, and to work in another country. One of the ideas I specifically remember from my list was the desire to become a writer.

I graduated from the Faculty of Al-Alsun (languages) Batch 2002, first language English, and second language Spanish. I currently work as a Journalist for Reuters news agency. I love reading, writing, walking, cooking and traveling.

Roula Sawaf

I have a background in fashion, growing up in Montreal were the clothing and fashion industry have major significance; I began working at the age of 15 in retail stores and trying to always be hands on in the industry I continued my studies in fashion design and later took on the business aspect, studying Fashion Marketing. Being a young aspiring fashion designer helped pave the way to many other opportunities, one of which was getting on board this wonderful team at DG magazine as a freelance writer.
