The Young and Talented Ayten Amer

Success is all about attitude, and it takes strong, confident women with plenty of talent to pull it off. With charm and a hint of mischieviousness, Ayten Amer has managed to light the Egyptian screen, attain popularity and become one of Egypt’s favorite young female stars; despite the abundance of new actresses on the scene...

Tell us about the real Ayten Amer not the actress?
I am a normal, simple, oriental, Egyptian girl who loves life, family, friends, and traveling a lot.

What about work, are you happy with what you do?
Yes I am, I love my work a lot and my relationship with my colleagues is great and in a respectful frame.

What if you were offered a role in Hollywood but you have to wear a swimming suit on screen, would you accept it?
Well, I was offered the same role here in Egypt, but refuse it and the same will go there too.

From your point of view, your roles in movies like “Shar3 el Haram”, and “7asal Hheir” was an additive step to your career or the opposite?
I believe that these roles were a very important step in my career as they helped me to reach a certain category of people whom I couldn’t reach with roles like my role in “El Daly” series where I played the rich, well educated, sweet little girl. A real actor must play all kinds of roles; poor, rich, kind, wicked, vulgar and descent, bascically everything.

Weren’t you afraid from the comparison between you and the great Soad Hosny in your role in “El Zoga El Tanya” series? And do you accept to be a second wife?
I was terrified, but after I read the script and found it different from the movie and really loved it I gathered my strength and accepted the role because for any role you will play there will always be admirers and criticizers. For the other part of the question I can be the first wife and he can get married again but to be a second wife, I guess not.

Is there a role that you regretted acting, and do you consider your role in “El Daly” series as your best role?
No, there isn’t as I hate remorse and always look forward and of course my role in “El Daly” series was a turning point in my career as well as to all the other actors and actresses in the series. I could say that it is among the most important roles in my career and was a hit.

What about the awards in your career?
Awards are so important to any artist, it is the motivation, and how it makes you feel after the hard work that you are appreciated and that your effort didn’t go in vain. I would like to seize this opportunity and thank Dear Guest for the great effort they exert yearly to bring out this great event the” Dear Guest annual festival “that is truly a highly regarded and respectable festival. And I wish to win yearly and I work hard for that.

What about your relationship with Wafaa Amer, does she help you with your choices, and what kind of advice did she give you to help you with your career?
Our relationship is so strong and different; she is not only my sister but my mother and best friend. She helps me a lot and advised me to always stay humble, and be loved by the simple people especially those behind the cameras, she told me that “ they won’t help you to come out in your best if they don’t love you”.

Were you afraid about the future of art in Egypt during Muslim Brotherhood rule?
I was afraid about Egypt not only the art, but Egypt is great and will always be. And I think that if they would have stopped the art and cinema I would have worked something else.

How do you deal with Fear, rumors, fans, and professional jealousy?
Fear:
I had my fights with fear but thanks God I always win
Rumors: thanks God I don’t face a lot of rumors but I always take it in a funny way and laugh at it.
Fans: I communicate with my fans all the time and love them so much.
Professional jealousy: it is healthy as long as it doesn’t affect you negatively.

Who is your dream lover?
Someone who is kind-hearted, loves me, and cares about me.

If he asks you to quit acting, what would you do?
I must be convinced first and then decide.

What do you do in your free time?
Traveling and shopping are my favorite hobbies.

At last what would you say and to who?
To my mother and sister Wafaa Amer, love you both and may God always keep you safe and healthy - And to my beloved Egypt, I wish to see it the best country in the world...
