The Art of Giving

"Think of giving not as a duty but as a privilege"
John D.Rockefeller jr

With the arrival of the holy month of ramadan, most people tend to be more spiritual and generous, although this should be the case Around the year. the other day, I was reading a book called "The seven spiritual laws of success" and i came across what is called "the law of giving", sometimes referred to as the "law of giving and receiving". Simply the law of giving states that whatever you  give or reflect reciprocates back on you in remarkable ways.

You notice all the time that your mind and body are dynamic and in constant change. There is continuous flow of circulation of harmonious elements and forces which is similar to the blood circulation and if there is a clot the whole system stalls. That is why giving and receiving is essential for one's life to circulate. In the process of giving we should be joyful and we should as well learn to receive graciously and happily and never feel discomfort when we receive because we deserve it. It is all about sharing, just as we teach our kids to share their toys with their friends.

When i talk about giving i am not specifying a certain thing, since the first thing that might come to one's mind is Money and other material aspects. Giving encompasses a wider range of feelings and acts; you can give love, respect, appreciation, prayers, and not only material things.

However just as you are ready to give, you have to be ready to receive in order for the flow and circulation to be complete. AS Deepak Chopra says " When you learn to give that which you seek, you activate and choreograph the dance with an exquisite, energetic, and vital movement that constitutes the eternal throb of life ".

So how can we apply this law... make the decision to give wherever you go and to whomever you come across in need and be sure that as long as you are giving you will receive. if you want wealth give money, if you want happiness make someone happy, if you want appreciation give appreciation etc... just believe in that and it will happen.

A couple of issues ago, i wrote about a non-profitable organization under the name of Operation Smile. Operation Smile is worldwide children's medical charity that provides free surgery to children, in developing countries, who were born with facial deformities. i am proud and glad to announce that Operation Smile Egypt is having its third mission in Egypt during the last week of October. I seize this opportunity to encourage all people to offer whatever help they can. It is a great chance to feel that you are contributing to put a smile on a child's face, thus making him/her happy forever. For further information, I will be glad to receive any inquires on my email, marwa [at] dearguest.com.

The law of giving is deep into the spirit of ramadan, and i hope all of us will enjoy the flow of giving and receiving in order to experience a happier and more satisfactory life.

Happy Ramadan and keep up the Good spirit...
