Mohamed Ragab

His real appearance was in "Lekaa’a Ala El Hawa" TV series, since then he has been taking calculated steps towards stardom. Mohmaed Ragab’s latest movie is Klashinkov, starring Ghada Adel, Salah Abdallah, and directed by Ramy Imam. The reviews about the film are great until now. DG talked to Mohamed Ragab about the film, future plans and so many other things… So get to know more about Mohamed Ragab….

 

Talk to us about your recent movie Klashinkov ….
Kl ashink ov  is a very intricate and complex film, where I play the role of a hack Killer with a dual personality and qualities. The film is full-fledged drama and it took a period of eight hard working months in preparations.

 

What are the unusual situations that you encountered during the shooting of the film?
There were a couple of dangerous situations that I faced. One of them was when I was laying down in a bathtub and an overhead lamp, that was used to light the studio, exploded and I was about to be electrified. The other one was when I was driving a car and crashed with the car carrying the camera. As you can see many situations were hazardous. 
 

What is the most positive criticism you received about the film?
The most positive criticism I received was that I was really able to make the action and light Comedy films equally as good. 

 

Did you get any negative criticism and do you think negative assessments add to you?
In fact, I did not read any negative criticism, and those which I have read are all superficial. Of course the professional negative criticism adds to me.

 

What is your opinion about the action movies in Egypt?
I think that action movies nowadays are produced with remarkable quality, due to the rapid technological development.Now the producers and directors use latest
technology in making the action films which generates great results.  I also think that the Egyptian Cinema has overcome its crisis of "ALL COMEDY FILMS". Now there are more diversified types of movies that satisfy all the public tastes.

 

Why do you perform one role/ movie a year?
You can say that it is my first steps, so I try as much as possible to take enough time in preparation to have a well performed role, because at the beginning each step is calculated. I worked last year ‘1/ 8 Dastet Ashrar film’ and the feedback from both the public and critics was great.  The revenues exceeded our expectations in Egypt and abroad, and this is a very good sign for me. Therefore, Klashinkov took time and thanks God we were able to do a good job, which resulted in positive reviews from
the public and critics and the revenues are also high until now.

 

What is the closest role to your heart? Frankly, I have not played a role that is not close to my heart or I am not convinced with. Every role I have done has a special place and each of them is the best for me according to the time which was done in, but the ambitions change according to each step.   Who is your role model actor? Too many; Adel Imam, Ahmed Zaki, Rushdi Abaza and Abdel Halim Hafez although I’m not a singer, but since my childhood, I watched Abdul Halim and regarded him as a delicate and genius actor to the point that I wished I had the singing talent.   TV series "Lekaa’a Ala Hawa" introduced you in a different way; are there any series on the way? I am supposed to begin a new TV series at the end of this year, but I still have no details about it.    Do you prefer the cinema or television? I love both cinema and television. I would say that the television

introduced me as a star to the cinema and the cinema introduced me to the public at the beginning. 

What is your dream role?
I want to play so many different roles, since I am still beginning
my acting career such as romantic, comic, psychological roles etc.  I would also like to play roles that touch upon the youth
and their problems and the films that reflect the on going events in Egypt and the Middle East.

 

Is there any news about your romantic life?
No, there are no romantic connections so far.

 

Who is your favorite star, whom do you see as a shining star nowadays?
They are all shining; they are all exerting great effort and striving to make good movies. I value and admire the work of many stars so I can not just mention one or too, the list is long.
