Being the president… No! But, I’ve always dreamt of working along with a president. If my dream was Egypt based, I would dream of constant youth trainings, I would change the educational concept that screwed us all! I don’t care if we were Egyptian program, IB, IG, AD… sitting in an Egyptian or a private college ends up in a different field than anything we studied?!! What the heck is that?? So basically change the Education system and people’s dream behind it! If, I was fortunate enough and did it with President Obama, I would change the ignorance level of Americans to the external world; I will actually induce the number of literate Americans for them to educate the community about the difference in human rights, religions and cultures. Diminish the illiteracy of mixing up Arabs and Muslims - ummmmm… good days :) good dreams :)

If I were President;
• I would celebrate our nationalism and make Egypt the proud and reliable country it once was.

• I would make excellent Education an affordable priority and equalize everyone’s right of entry.

• I would make “compassion” part of the core curriculum in schools, as it is in parts of Japan.

• I would inflict that each person respect every commendable citizen,in spite of their authority and savings account.

• I would diminish Human oppression, and strengthen animal cruelty laws.

• I would implement a “mind our own business” policy.

• I would make the provision of healthcare for “ALL”Egyptians a reality.

“Then, I would announce, in all sincerity, to every corner of the world that America’s global interventions have come to an end…”

“YES! I’ve always thought about that! Well of course there are several things that need to be changed, however I will start with
education. A good education is the only way to have a safe present and a brighter future… As soon as I become President I will build schools where children will not only learn, but will also imagine and create; I dream of schools where ALL children will be encouraged to wonder what clouds taste like and why is the sky so blue…!”

Seeing that I am a very realistic person, I never dreamt of being the president simply because, it is not allowed in our Egyptian Constitution! Even if the constitution was amended to embrace the option for women to run for presidency, I personally, would not want such a huge responsibility and being under so much pressure to satisfy the needs of each and everyone in the population and still would not reach the optimum solution. However,

I have the following suggestions for whoever dreams of being the president:
• Reduce taxes imposed in the country.

• Remove custom duties and turn this country into a duty free country.

• Increase the number of public schools and university but have an admission exam for entering such public schools and universities in order for making education available for those who really want to be educated.

• Terminate Thanaweya 3amma and replace it by admission exams for universities.

• Promote languages in public schools so that the whole population speaks English. It really bothers me how the average Egyptian does not speak languages and the average Tunisian or Algerian or Moroccan has an additional language than Arabic.

• Following point 4: Teach all Egyptians the difference between the “P” and the “B”.

• Increase the number of private parks in each district for children to find open air areas to play.

• Amend Labor Laws to allow women to have a 6 months paid maternity leave. It is unfair for women who have to work to leave their children 3 months helpless in nurseries to run back to work.

• Promote fashion industry in the country and by removing custom duties from imported clothes, the fashion taste in the country will be upgraded and hence the population will look elegant. If you look at the black and white Egyptian movies until the 70’s you will find that all the population was up to fashion.

• Last but not least increase the salaries of government employees to promote the living standards of all the government employees and give them the prestige they deserve.

I really hope this would happen. Or am I dreaming???

It *NEVER* even crossed my mind as even a possibility. I never thought of it as something I aspired to be. I always revered the presidency as a hassle and not something I’d even want for myself. Plus, I don’t want to get blamed from one half of the country, and it seems like the other half would hate me.
