With two little boys in the house, it’s a rare thing.

Read and write Arabic fluently.

I recently read The Hunger Games and did fancy myself as being Katniss Everdeen for a few days afterwards.

9- When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
Depends on my mood, but often I’ll go for a walk or read. There’s little better than being midway through a book that you can’t put down. I also find tidying up the house to be quite cathartic.

Those few minutes when you lie wallowing in bed, half asleep and half awake, before you get up. And then the first coffee of the morning.

NADIRAH Angail

1- Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
No one :( But people do often mistake me for people in their family.

2- What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?
I don’t have an iPod. These days, I pretty much only hear music in the car, and most of that I can’t even stand. Gotta be picky about what I expose myself (and my children) to.

3- What is one of your favorite quotes?
“You are responsible for your own happiness.” I heard it some years ago somewhere and I think its so true. So many of us look to ________ to make us happy. (Fill in blank with your mate/children/money/job/etc.) All those things ENHANCE happiness, but you have to have it on your own first. You have to know that regardless of what everyone else is doing or what others have done to you, YOU are the only one that lives your life and the only one that can give it meaning. I also like this quote: “Forgiveness is for the forgiver, not the forgiven.” We’ve got to free ourselves up from the binding energy of anger, hate and resentment.

4- What sound do you love?
The sound of my children laughing.

5- If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?
Maya Angelou. Her life story is so inspirational, and she is a fellow African American woman writer.

6- If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?
Sure wish I could see the pyramids being built. It would be great
to know how they did that.

7- If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Be invisible, but it’s probably good that I can’t because I can see myself getting into trouble. I’d be sneaking all over the place. Haha!

8- If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?
Superwoman. A lot of mothers joke about being her, but it would be amazing to really be her!

9- When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
Take a shower. I have two young children (3 and 14 months) so showers are hard to come by.

10- The best part of waking up is?
Being awake. Not everyone wakes up.
