Dear Guest Festival 2015

Since the very first DG Festival, held in 2004, the event has served as an influential platform for television, filmmakers and talents at a soaring level to showcase and present awards to the industries finest work in the region. DG has established itself as a major festival and also extended its platform to present and honor excellence in many other fields. The Friday night opening of the annual leading and largest film festival of its kind in Egypt was on the night of December 18th at the breathtaking Dusit Thani Lake View Hotel, located in the fifth settlement of the New Cairo District - DG Festival was back for its 12th year.

From August through to December of each year, our online survey is exclusively conducted to assess and determine the most excellent and deserving accomplishments within various categories. Actors, directors, producers, writers and the best of the industry all anticipate Egypt’s finest Award winning night showcased at one of Egypt’s premiere locations.

Glamour stakes were high at the 12th edition of the DG Film Festival's night, it was all about distinction -- commending the years most eminent and flourishing achievements. It was an inspirational night of jaw dropping beauty and sensational couture where all the guests wrapped up the evening with a new appreciation of one another's achievements.

As a tradition, the night was hosted by the beautiful Poussy Shalaby, and all the pioneering guest winners attended, all eager to receive their awards. DG honored and awarded living legends Lamis Gaber, Lobna Abdel Aziz, and Galal Sharkawi for their success stories as their names continue to be recognized with eminence among renowned prodigies.

Dear Guest Special Awards were presented for the credible work of Sawsan Badr, who won an award for her role in "Tariki Series", the always pioneering Khaled El Sawi for his role in "Al Soalook Series", the lovable Hala Sedki for her role in "Haret Elyahod Series", the amazing work of Tarek Lotfi for his role in "Baad El Bedaia". The everlasting elegant Dalia El Beheri for her role in "Yameyat Zawga Mafrosa", and Amr Moustafa for his special songs & role in the music industry during 2015. The great Khaled El Nabawi was also awarded for his role in "Mariam Series", the talented Youssef El Sherif for his role in "Leabet Eblis", and last but not least everyone's favorite Dhaffer L'Abidine for his role in "Taht El Saitara Series".

The Stunning and notable work of all the great award winners mentioned below placed each and every one in the lead of the listed category: Nicole Saba was awarded for her role in "Alf Liela w Liela Series", Amr Youssef for his role in "Zarf Eswed Series", and Riham Abdel Ghafour for her role in "Mariam Series". Ahmed Wafik for his role in "Taht El Saytara", Seba Moubarek for her role in "Hak Mayet Series", Dina for her role in "Hawari Bokharist Series", Naglaa Badr for her role in "Al Soalook Series", Rogina for her role in "Baad El Bedaya Series", Tarek El Shenawi for his role in the "Artistic Criticism" and Gamal El Adl took home the "Producing Award". Ghada Ragab earned her DG special award.

Dear Guest Voting Awards were presented to the stunning Donia Samir Ghanem who took home a plaque with the title of best comedian actress. While the talented Ali Rabeia won the exact title in the male category for 2015. The oh-so-lovely Ahmed El Sakka , and lovable Nelly Karim were praised for their worthiness throughout 2015 with the highest voting, comfortably placing them both in the lead, as Television’s best male/female actor for this year.

This years Television Comedians were Hassan Raddad, voted "Best Comedian Actor", Aimy Samir Ghanem "Best Comedian Actress", Mohamed Mamdouh "Best Youth Actor", and Amina Khalil "Best Youth Actress". Amr Adib and Lamis Hadidi for their substantial magnitude within the media through out 2015.

The extremely dynamic and distinguished, Ahmed Ezz deservedly earned his title for best cinema actor, and the best cinema actress award went to the impressive leading lady, Mona Zaki. The remarkable Mohamed Farag and the attractive Gamila Awad were both named best youth actor/actress for their work throughout 2015. Sherif Mekkawy’s outstanding talent earned him an award for best music arranger, while pioneering Amir Teama won
his award for best poet, along with Khaled Ezz, winner of the best composer award. The absolutely gorgeous Amal Maher was deservedly voted Best singer for 2015, while the esteemed Mohamed Hamaki was named best singer as well as his "Omro ma Yeghib" album winning Best Album for the year. Saad Lmegrad, took center stage and performed his catchy tune "Enta Meaalem" which won him an award for best song of the year.

Promising singing sensation Nesma Mahgoub was voted best youth female singer, along with Ahmed Gamal as best youth singer. Amal Maher's song "Seket El Salama" won Best Video Clip. Ibtissam Tiskat was a big winner, she won the award for Best Rising Female Singer and charming Laith Abo Jouda was awarded the plaque for best rising male singer. "Shezofrania" was voted as the best Single Song by Doaa Sebaei. Hawary Bokharist was voted Best Series Song, which is sung by Mohamed Adaweya.

Cinema greats Tarek Al Erian was awarded the best Director award, while Mohamed Hefzy was presented the Best Script writer award. Aswar El Amar was voted "Best Film" of the year, and the incredible work of Tamer Mohsen won him the "Best Director" award.

Asaad Allaho Masaakom, hosted by Akram Hosny won an award for "Best Comedian Program". The forever controversial and exclusive Al Aashera Masaan, hosted by Wael Ibrashi was once again voted "Best Talk Show Program". Esaad Younis's "Sahebat Al Saada" was deservedly voted Best Program, and Mina Atta & Rana Samaha's program "Ghani w Bas" won Best Radio Program. The best male radio announcer award went to Ahmed Younis and beautiful Sally Abdel Sallam won the same award for the female category. Another big winner was sports director Mohamed Sami in addition to everyone’s favorite - the distinguished sport presenter Ahmed Shobier. Hossam Ghali won the award for Athletic Person of the year.

This is a compelling testament to the success of the Festival in building the definitive space for Egyptian and Arab talent, providing a platform for them to achieve their ambitions and also giving them the opportunity to stand tall alongside their counterparts.

DG also awarded a number of TV channels, websites and Programs according to the survey results. Listed below are this year’s commendable winners in addition to awards chosen by the board members..
