Previously Miss Egypt, now a guru determined to revolutionize her positive influence as an actress, Dalia El Beheiry is a pioneer in Egypt, and this exclusive interview uncovers just that -- A daring, determined and fiercely intelligent actress with a mind of her own. DG meets this gorgeous tour guide, turned model, turned presenter, turned actress and finds out just how she’s transformed her life…

It's been such a long time since we last saw you on screen, where have you been?
Well, not that long I guess. My last series on TV was El Qasirat series and afterwards I started to prepare for a new series but unfortunately things didn’t go well and stopped. But thanks to God, and this is exclusive news for Dear Guest, I will start very soon to shoot my first comedian series for the upcoming Ramadan, it is called "Yawmyat Zawga Mafrosa Awy", produced by NTR production company and written by Amany Dorgham, This is her debut series on TV, but she used to write books. Its directed by Ahmed Nour, and the amazing stars working with me are: Khaled Sarhan playing my husband, the Great Samir Ghanem, Ragaa El Gedawy, and of course many more.

What about the cinema, any new plans, and while we're on the topic -- how do you see the cinema nowadays?
Well, movie productions are not huge as before. When I started working as an actress, producers were producing more than 60 movie a year, but now it has reached 10 maximum and maybe less a year, of course that is really sad. We truly wish the best for the cinema industry and for the wheel to go forward more and more. Several problems contributed in the cinema industry crisis. For instance, the weakness of most of the movies nowadays in terms of production, plot, directing, basically everything. For me. I can't work in such kind of movies. I received some scenarios and refused them all as they were not up to my standard. I believe that most of the good and respectable actors and actresses who respect their fans can't work in such kind of movies. Also the summer season for the past five or six years was very short due to Ramadan presence in the mid of summer and of course the producers were not encouraged to make a lot of movies due to this reason, but I guess the coming summer season will be different. And we can't also disregard the political situation for the past four years, but thanks to God a lot of things have been changing and I am so optimistic about the future and for sure things will get better.

How do you manage your time between your precious daughter and work?
Well, I used to work once a year since I started acting and now even every two years. My parents are always there for me and Kimmy. In fact I never leave her alone, if I am working, she is with my parents. Moreover she is getting older and responsibilities are becoming different.

What do you think of the media and talk shows nowadays, and how credible are they in the eyes of their audiences?
I believe that we are in a very small world and no one can lie or makeup stories because people can easily discover the truth from lie. So basically the media is compelled to tell the truth. Of course there are always out of the ordinary people but these are a minority. There are respectable talk shows which people are keen to watch and bad ones that people overlook. At the end, good ones only stay.

Tell us about your last experience as a presenter on "Awii Albak" show, and could you present a talk show?
Well, with regards to presenting a talk show, yes I would like to do so but nothing political, perhaps something for the family or sociable. And about my last experience on "Awii Albak", it was a nice and different experience. For the very first time an Arab country participated in this kind of competition. This program is a huge French production that brings several countries to participate. It was a very tiring show, we were shooting for 18 continuous hour daily, but I really enjoyed it. People liked it and saw me differently in this show. I have to give credit to Dany Saliba, the Lebanese Director who is full of life.

Moving to politics, how do you see our beloved Egypt?
I am so optimistic about the future of this great country, especially after the election of President El Sisi . As we move on with all the hassle around us, President El Sisi just proves one thing that he deserves to be our president, to be the president of our great Egypt. We are facing a lot of problems; political, economic, terrorism from inside and outside, and he is doing his best to solve all these problems. I think that Egypt needs us all now to do our best, each in his field to overcome these hard times and to build our new Egypt. People should work and "ONLY" work.

What about the role of an artist to his/her country?
A very important role, the artist should be an example to be followed, an idol. Having people who love you should make you better and make you think about all your deeds, how to give people inspiration to work and be as optimistic as you are. Artists should highly contribute to build their new Egypt.

What would you like to say at the end?
I wish my beloved Egypt all the best and I am sure that the best is yet to come...
